Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulics and Hydrology in the Small Computer Age

Abstract:

This paper investigates the transport of waste leachate from a leaky containment facility using the computer model of Two-Dimensional Solute Transport and Dispersion in Ground Water developed by L. F. Konikow and J. D. Bredehoeft for the United States Geological Survey. Hydrologic, hydraulic, geotechnical, chemical parameters, and leachate control methods are modeled to represent various hypothetical cases. The impact of the transported contaminant on well and streams (sinks) is reviewed. Parameter sensitivity is discussed.
