Abstract:

This paper describes a series of field techniques successfully used by the authors to determine a minimum flow downstream of hydroelectric plants. The minimum flow of water required for anadromous fish species is determined by use of a system of transects across the river bed. These techniques are most appropriate for facilities where project outflow can be regulated.
