Abstract:

The authors have developed a propriety software package which has been successfully used to perform risk analyses for several high-level bridge structures across major waterways in coastal port cities in the U. S. and Canada. Examples from the authors' practical applications of the methodology are presented to describe the procedure and to explain the ways in which the risk analysis findings can help to design bridge protection systems.
