Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastal Zone '85

Abstract:

The persistent drought, with the strong reduction in freshwater, causes an oversalinity from upstream to downstream in the Saloum waters. The mangrove system operates such as an inverse estuary. The fauna and flora show adjustments by an impoverishment in marine species associated with lagoon species.
