Abstract:
The state of Maryland contracted for the construction of a diked disposal facility. Research investigations were conducted to assess the impact of the dike construction on the environment and to provide a baseline for future studies. One important component of these investigations was to identify the sedimentological, geochemical, and biological conditions of the near surface sedimentary column prior to and during actual construction of the facility.
