Abstract:

In order to provide a better method of generating synthetic streamflow data, a stochastic model of simulating long-term streamflows is developed. Basically, this method uses historical streamflow data to establish Markov transition probabilities at an intended project site. These probabilities will be the guide for producing synthesized streamflows for a desired period. Applications of the model are illustrated.
