Abstract:

Recent improvements in the real-time acquisition of hydro-meteorological data have raised concerns regarding the quality of the data received. This paper presents several data verification techniques and describes their use in controlling the quality of data received. The discussion is limited to real-time data verification; thus, the techniques used are without the aid of human intervention via graphic analysis or complete time series statistical analysis. The real-time analyses described are already operational at over five locations throughout the United States.
