Abstract:

The 'bucket line' dredge and 'cutter suction' dredge are two distinct types of equipment. The cutter suction system has developed more in the last years. The advent of underwater hydraulic drives made it possible to develop bucket wheel which combines the two techniques. This further led to the development of the wheel.
