Impact and Mitigation: LA/LB Landfill Plan

by Donald W. Rice, Los Angeles Harbor Dep, San Pedro, CA, USA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Dredging and Dredged Material Disposal

Abstract:

Mitigation planning in U. S. ports has primarily been on a project by project basis, an approach that is costly and ineffective. This paper reports on a biological impact assessment and mitigation procedure developed by the L. A. District Corps of Engineers for the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach in connection with master planned dredge and fill development.
