Part of: Computer Aided Design in Civil Engineering

Abstract:

The factors to be considered prior to the establishment of computer aided engineering or computer aided design and drafting centers are discussed. It is noted that the critical issues to be addressed are on the personnel related matters, rather than technical problems. It is also observed that in view of the current practices, the establishment of such centers in educational institutions requires more in-depth review, as compared to industry. A schedule, with pertinent discussions, is presented to be followed in the organizational planning of the centers.
