Abstract:

Research concerning urban hydrology in the scope necessary for drainage and urban runoff is financed in Poland within the framework of the Government Research Program Development and utilization of water resources and also by the urban drainage companies responsible for the solution of that problem. This research is carried out mainly at the Research Institute on Environmental Development. In the years 1979-82, the results of research from the previous period were summed up in the scope of urban hydrology applied to the planning and designing of drainage of precipitation runoff and in forecasting of the quality of runoff. These recapitulations are presented in the form of guidelines and principles for the needs of municipalities, sewerage and drainage companies, civil and environmental engineers as well.
