Abstract:

Adding or improving mixing, flocculation, and sedimentation devices, and changing filter media can significantly increase water filtration plant capacity. Water quality can often be improved by changing disinfection practices to control formation of trihalomethane, optimizing chemical coagulants and corrosion chemicals, adding or improving rapid mix and flocculation basins and equipment, and changing filter media.
