Abstract:
In the past year and a half the national media have performed the major role in spreading the word that the nation's public works, particularly in urban areas, have been neglected and require massive investment to be rehabilitated. This article is a compilation of clippings from the national print media describing the severity of the crisis, its national nature, the deterioration of elements of the public works infrastructure (mass transit, sewers, roads, bridges, and water supply systems), and some of the proposed solutions to these problems.
