Abstract:
Conventional rail and bus transit play important roles. Para-transit may eventually carry more people. Among the possibilities: priority access to freeways for multi-passenger vehicles; encouraging large employers to provide vans for transporting employees to work; fostering car pools; reforming taxi regulations to encourage innovation; bring back jitneys; and, continue innovative experiments to encourage bus use.
