Abstract:

A brief history is presented of activities in surface water hydrology by the Hydraulics Division since 1938. Included is an historical review of division activities in such areas as precipitation and streamflow analyses, estimation of evaporation and transpiration, hydrograph analysis, streamflow routing, precipitation/runoff modeling, sedimentation estimation and hydrologic simulation. Future research activities of the division in these areas are discussed also.
