Abstract:

This paper describes the policies of urban transport and public transport, the characteristics of land use, and the operation management of state-owned bus companies in Chinese cities. It also presents current status of public transport and discusses the development trend of urban public transport in China. To better understand an overall situation of urban public transport in China, the paper presents statistics and detailed information obtained from sample cities around the country.
