Abstract:

Water becomes more and more a precious good. Therefore the exact measurement of flow of water, the management of water and process control in connection with water will become more and more important, especially in the dry regions of our world. The paper describes a new intelligent ultrasonic transit time flowmeter giving a wider range ability than many other types of flowmeters for a given accuracy. in closed conduits, the flow measurement system RISONIC is designed to cover the ranges from 150 mm (6 up to 8000 mm (320) in pipe diameter. In open channels ranges up to 15 m (45 ft.) in channel width can be reached.
