Environmental Improvement in Southern Africa

by Daniel P. Miller, (A.M.ASCE),

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: North American Water and Environment Congress & Destructive Water

Abstract:

Cross-border environmental projects in southern Africa are identified and discussed. The complexity of coordinating multinational standards, combined with the region's extreme poverty, has limited implementation of projects designed to enhance or protect the environment, even though this is recognized as a pressing need. The projects here represent the opportunity to help preserve some of the most beautiful and unique natural resources in the world.
