Abstract: Two complementary approaches are presented to model the shear behaviour of reinforced concrete structures. A local one, based on a probabilistic modelling of cracking, accounts for local discontinuities. A semi-global one, based on an extended beam model, allows the calculus of a whole structure in an effective processing time.
