Abstract:

The Federal Highway Administration is now requiring a comprehensive evaluation of bridge scour as part of the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). To support the implementation of this program, the FHWA, through the National Highway Institute (NHI), contracted for development of a training course on stream stability and bridge scour. The training course has been presented over 40 times in the last three years, and will continue to be offered over the next three years.
