Abstract:

The access to enhanced real-time travel information is widely accepted as one of the cornerstones of any intelligent highway system. In the majority if IVHS programs currently underway in the US, information accessibility is limited by the location and fixed receiver but understandably, information should be available to the traveler regardless of location. This paper describes how Genesis intends to translate this concept into reality and reviews the project's current progress and proposed testing activities.
