Abstract:

A double cylinder caisson breakwater was recently developed to create a calm sea area in deep and high wave open sea areas. In order to confirm some subjects on design method and construction work, we conducted a field test in an actual sea area. This paper reports the results of that field test, mainly from the viewpoint of the hydraulic property of this new type of caisson, and the results of hydraulic model tests conducted to complement and verify the results of the sliding tests.
