Abstract: In March of 1991, the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Project (YMP) began providing monthly tours for the general public to visit the Yucca Mountain site. The goal of these tours has been to inform the public and to provide direct contact to Project scientists. An overwhelming response has since created a need for expansion of the tour program to meet community demands. This paper describes the development, implementation, and results of the grade 6-12 tour program introduced in the last year to meet the needs of the educational community in particular.
