Abstract: This paper presents the direct integration method and Kac-Siegert technique to solve the first four cumulants in the general quadratic systems, and proposes the splitting technique to deal with the fluid-structure interaction problem. The response statistics of tension leg platforms (TLPs) subjected to wind loads, are solved up to the fourth-order cumulant (kurtosis). Based on the first four cumulants, various methods for the non-Gaussian distribution have been compared with the simulation result.
