Abstract:

Jefferson Parish has been identified as an urban area requiring a municipal storm water NPDES permit. Jefferson is now in the progress of completing its Part 1 permit applications and will soon begin work on the Part 2 permit application. This process is not the first to investigate storm water quality in the area, but is the most comprehensive. Several lessons have been learned from preparation of the Part 1 permit application and several issues will need to be addressed in completing the Part 2 permit application.
