Abstract:

With the increase in air passenger traffic and related ground access congestion many cities are examining potential links between regional transit systems and their airports. A working group of the Landside Committee has recently undertaken a study to prepare an inventory of the existing fixed rail services and summarize experience and lessons to assist planners in examining potential links. This paper provides an overview of preliminary findings following a literature review.
