Abstract:

Automation is a powerful tool that when used intelligently can increase production, minimize cost, and improve production in any testing laboratory. The Soils Testing Facility (STF) at the US Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) has continually improved it's testing systems through automation. This paper discusses how WES has configured and implemented it's automated systems.
