Abstract:

This proceedings, Geotechnical Engineering Congress 1991, consists of papers presented at the Geotechnical Congress held in Boulder, Colorado from June 10-12, 1991. The congress provides a forum for examining current state-of-the-art in geotechnical engineering and forecasting future developments. Some of the topics covered are: 1) In situ testing; 2) computer applications; 3) developments in geotechnical instrumentation; 4) earth reinforcing systems; 5) hazardous waste materials; 6) numerical modeling; and 7) load and resistance factor design. This proceedings provides the engineer with the opportunity to assimilate new information and cope with the joint challenge and trauma that change inevitably brings.

Subject Headings: Geotechnical engineering | Load and resistance factor design | Numerical models | Load tests | Hazardous substances | Field tests | Computer models
