Abstract:

Adaptive control has been extensively applied in industrial settings for the control of unknowns systems, systems with uncertainty in the parameters. The approach is recursive, the response of the system to control is used to update the parameter estimates in order to improve future control. Adaptive control is applied to the control of groundwater hydraulics in order to meet target heads at well locations in the presence of uncertainty in the transmissivity and hydraulic conductivity.
