by Richard S. Owen, Southwest Florida Water Management, District, Brooksville, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Water Resources Planning and Management and Urban Water Resources

Abstract:

Regional water supply authorities have been formed within the Southwest Florida Water Management District in an effort to meet growing water demands of a rapidly expanding population. These water supply authorities provide water on a wholesale basis to their member governments. The authorities provide a means of coordinating water supply development amongst numerous local governments, both those in need of water resources and those who may be fortunate to have resources available for development.
