Abstract:

Total Quality Management (TQM) is an organizational management approach that is receiving increasing attention in a wide variety of organizations, including the Ford Motor Company, General Electric, Procter & Gamble, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. TQM is being promoted as a comprehensive approach to solving U.S. competitiveness problems, and to improving internal organization focus and efficiency. Organizations that adopt TQM often make substantive changes in their way of doing business, in effect adopting a 'quality culture' with a different language and concepts. A brief overview of some TQM concepts is presented.
