Abstract:

This paper explores the development of a computerized decision support system for ranking risks due to environmental concerns. The paper begins with a brief history a comparative risk project that was performed in Region 10 of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The problems encountered by EPA that are typical of any comparative risk analysis are identified. A DSS developed by the authors is then described and its application to comparative risk is illustrated.
