Abstract:

This paper discusses the winter construction for replacement of the Campbell Lake portion of the Campbell Creek C-5 Trunk (C-5 Trunk) located in Anchorage, Alaska (see Figure 1). A previous paper entitled Anchorage Sewer Rehabilitation in Campbell Lake discussed the project development and planning process. This paper focuses on the lower segment of the project, which lies within Campbell Lake and was constructed during the winter of 1989/1990. The C-5 Trunk is one of the largest sewers in the Anchorage area and serves a large portion of the southern part of the community. Design was completed in September 1989 and construction began in November 1989. The project was placed into service in May 1990.
