Abstract:

This paper describes a newly developed pavement design program. The performance of a number of pavement structures are projected over the analysis period. Structurally adequate designs are subjected to an economic analysis to select the most cost-effective design strategy. A unique feature of the program is the prediction of performance in terms of rut depth, fatique cracking and serviceability. One major rehabilitation is also considered in the design process. A design example is used to illustrate the capabilities of the program.
