This proceedings consists of papers presented at the International Conference on Microcomputers in Transportation which was held on June 21-23, 1989 in San Francisco, California. They describe various applications of microcomputers in such areas as transportation planning, information management, traffic impact analysis, traffic engineering, highway design, accident analysis, economic analysis, and project evaluation and management. In addition a number of papers address generic topics associated with the evolution of hardware and software technology for microcomputers. This proceedings reflects the innovative applications of microcomputers to the field of transportation occurring on the international scene.
