Microcomputer Traffic Records System for Accident Analysis

by John D. Blair, Illinois Dep of Transportation, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Microcomputer Applications in Transportation III

Abstract:

Over the last few years, the Illinois Department of Transportation has been developing an integrated microcomputer traffic records system designed to record and analyze accident, citation, and roadway data for medium sized cities. The system was designed to be used by both engineering and enforcement. Most of the analysis modules, while originally developed on a microcomputer, were primarily designed for use with the State's mainframe database and location system. They were later modified for use in the Local Traffic Records System (LTRS).
