Abstract:

A probabilistic model is developed to simulate long-term variation in the structural condition of wastewater collection systems. The effects of both deterioration and rehabilitation can be modeled. Computation of the present value of all sewer condition-dependent costs provides the basis for optimization of long-term rehabilitation strategies as an extension of current sewer system planning and management practices.
