Abstract:

It is necessary to know mean values and coefficients of variation of loads in order to verify the safety of structures. In this paper, the N-year maximum mean values and the coefficients of variation of wind loads, seismic loads and wave loads are calculated by means of observed data of wind speed, magnitude of earthquake and wave height in Japan. Furthermore, load factors are calculated by means of the N-year maximum mean values and the coefficients of variation of loads. And regional variations of the N-year maximum mean values and the coefficients of variation of loads are examined.
