Abstract:

The authors have developed general-purpose stochastic finite element analysis system, which supports various types of correlation and computes safety index ? by first-order second-moment method and ?* by advanced first-order second-moment method with the effect of general correlation. Taking two kinds of soil structure, excavation and embankment, as numeral examples, it is shown that eigenvalue analysis is not necessary and the CPU time is practical.
