Abstract:

This paper attempts to provide a fundamental basis for estimating the remaining life of reinforced concrete structure. In the damage assessment of reinforced concrete structure, some quantity regarding crack is considered as a measure of damage. However, the determination of allowable serviceability limit of crack may be difficult due to the complexity of deterioration mechanism. Here, the theory of fuzzy sets is applied to introduce the subjective judgment of engineers into the analysis.
