Abstract:

This paper describes a new and efficient methodology for structural reliability analysis applicable to offshore jacket structures. The proposed methodology uses the Virtual Distortion Method (VDM) to model nonlinear structural behaviour during progressive collapse which is then used in conjunction with a multi-phase algorithm for reliability assessment.
