Abstract:

The horizontal intrusion of a turbid water with some intermediate density spreading on the interface of a two-layered homogeneous body of water is investigated. The study is directed towards the understanding of the spreading relations for the case of a constant inflow rate. The results obtained herein can be useful for modeling the transport and deposition processes of suspended sediment in stratified aquatic environments.
