Abstract:

Turbine-generator foundations are generally constructed of concrete in the U.S.A. This paper deals with the dimensioning and evaluation of a turbine foundation in Oxnard, California. The construction site is located within the Oxnard Plain, characterized in many places by the occurrence of loose alluvial deposits, potentially liquefiable. The method of arrival to the final foundation design is described in this paper.
