Inelastic Seismic Analysis of Concrete Buildings

by Christian Meyer, Columbia Univ, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Seismic Engineering: Research and Practice

Abstract:

The important inelastic analysis techniques that are suitable for concrete buildings subjected to earthquakes are summarized. Basic principles and practical modeling guidelines are given to aid structural engineers who are contemplating such inelastic analyses. In preparation for such guidelines, basic modeling principles for linear elastic analyses are also reviewed. This paper is a summary of Chapter 7 of a state-of-the-art publication currently in preparation.
