Applications of Fiber Bundle Model to Structural Engineering

The bundle failure time has been studied extensively for both deterministic and random loads. The objective of this paper is to apply results in these studies to the dynamic analysis of a simple frame. It is assumed that the frame fails when all columns lose their flexural stiffness. It is shown that differences between the failure times of the weakest column and the frame can be significant.
