Abstract:

This paper describes efforts to resolve potential operational conflicts between the oil and fishing industries in Alaska, specifically, the formation and activities of an organization called the Oil/Fisheries Group of Alaska. It focuses on the practical aspects of inter-industry communications, conflict avoidance and problem resolution in areas of multiple-use of the ocean.
