Abstract:

MULTBEAM, a Lotus 1-2-3 template, can be used to analyze simple-span, multigirder steel highway bridge superstructures. Since it was developed for in house use by Sverdrup Corp., this program has been used for the preliminary design of a number of New Jersey Turnpike bridges that are going to be widened. Using MULTBEAM, Sverdrup is now able to analyze beams in seconds�an operation that took four to five hours per beam if done manually.
