Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Dynamic Response of Structures

Abstract:

This paper discusses different issues and requirements existing in the area of building instrumentation. Strategies and types of equipment currently being used by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and California Division of Mines and Geology (CDMG) is discussed. A brief review of different methodologies which have been, or can be, applied in the processing of structural response data is also presented. Building Instrumentation Digital Recorder-Analyzer (BIDRA) is introduced in this paper. BIDRA is a new instrumentation system which has been developed at Stanford University to fulfill most of the building instrumentation requirements.
