Abstract:

Several test borings were instrumented with two thermistor strings, one inside and one outside an air-filled PVC casing to compare readings of both thermistor strings and the stability of the readings with time. The inner string generally provided stable readings within an hour after installation. Over a six-week period, no significant difference was found in the inside versus outside measurements.
