Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Waterpower '85

Abstract:

The paper discusses a system for producing custom designed turbines which are attractive in price and delivery, retaining the advantages of customization. A computerized program is being developed for small hydroturbines ranging from 500 to 5000 KW approximately. The engineer determines the configuration and selects the main components and options, if any. The computer then determines the dimensions and the characteristics of the major components and subassemblies such as: runner, wicket gate, nozzle, spiral case, etc. The computer arranges the components in the assembly drawings of the turbine and the engineer completes the drawings by inserting the accessories and completing the interfaces to match the site requirements.
